FROM THE PASTOR
Dear parishioners,
Christmas is almost here, just a few days away. I hope youre excited; I sure am. There never seems to be enough time to get all the things ready for Christmas that we want ready. Not all the shopping, cleaning, cooking, baking, decorating, caroling, card writing, etc. got done. Let us learn to be satisfied that our inner readiness for Christmas takes priority over our material readiness. Its much better to sing with gusto and joy our familiar carols and holiday songs, even if we do so off-key, than to listen to Christmas music from a CD of Bing Crosby or Mannheim Steamroller with our stomach in a knot or a sourpuss on our face.
It is much better to sit at table with a meager meal surrounded by peaceable family members than to have a gourmet dinner served in a swelter of argument and bitterness.
It is better to participate fully in a noisy worship service with hearts full of love for all God has given than to complain judgmentally in ones mind about those who are not present.
We have so much to live for. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has come to earth to save us for Himself and from our sinful selves. Let us celebrate the anniversary of His birth with great joy. May we appreciate all those who have touched our lives in blessed ways.
Give glory to God in the highest for Jesus is with us.
God bless you and your loved ones this Christmas,
Christmas love,
Fr. Jamie

ST. MARTINS WELCOMES DIANA MCCORMICK TO THE STAFF

She has been meeting with our PSR teachers, students, and parents; participating in the RCIA sessions at St. Pius X and at St. Wenceslas; and has joined in on the process for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. VIBRANT LIFE BULLETIN BOARD
Let's show everyone what a Vibrant Family of God we are! Please sign your name on a little house and place it on the bulletin board in the vestibule of the church. We are building the new city of God by first starting with the individuals and families of the parish. A photo of you, your family, or a photo of a special celebration that occurred at our church would a also be great to display and share with others by putting them on the bulletin board

HEALING HUMOR
The teacher asked her class of nine-year-olds, "Why was Jesus born in Bethlehem?" A boy raised his hand in reply, "Because thats where his mother was."
(from HOLY HUMOR, by Cal & Rose Samra, 1996)
Why shouldnt Mary be in Bethlehem to give birth to the Savior? After all, she was present in Nazareth when the archangel Gabriel announced to her the good news that God wanted Mary to be the mother of his only Son. Mary responded as we all need to respond so that Christ may be born again in all our hearts. Mary said, " I am the maidservant of the Lord; let it happen according to your word." At that moment, the Word became flesh among us.
