PARISH CLUSTERING

The seven parish Cluster met Monday, April 18, in St. Peter Hall.  At the previous Cluster meeting, held on April 7, at Holy Trinity, it was decided to break up the 30 member Cluster into four sub-committees to test the major priorities listed in the Bishop’s May 28, 2008 letter.

The sub-committees were formed and chairpersons were assigned to each sub-committee.  Cluster representatives chose one of the groups on which to serve.  The sub-committees are:

 Finance Chairman ... Ed Klimczak

St. Peter’s School Chairman ... Tony Campana

Social Services Chairman ... Pat Shullick

Evangelization Chairman ... Deacon Bob Dybo

Each of these sub-committees met before the April 28th meeting.  There are two critical things that have to be accomplished by each group.

*Test the working assumption that the BEST 3-site solution for our cluster (????) will work within the context of each specific sub-committee goal.

*Write a specific plan for the goal that each addresses all of the relevant points in the Bishop’s letter.

Each Chairperson gave a report on the results of their respective meetings on the 28th.

A TIME LINE was established for reaching a final recommendation by June 23 as to which three parishes will stay open; preparing a document for the parishes; obtaining feedback from each parish concerning the Cluster recommendations to be made to the Bishop by October 15, 2008.  All of the sub-committees will meet during the month of May to further test the working assumptions that the three remaining parishes will most effectively meet the evangelization, social concerns, financial or school needs of the Cluster.  The next Cluster meeting is scheduled for May 19, at  St. Joseph.
