The Liturgical Season of Lent is almost over, just one more week before the beginning of Holy Week.  Let’s use this week to focus on our spirituality.  Am I attending Sunday Mass every Sunday?  Do I reflect on the Sacred Scripture?  Do I use my voice to sing God’s praises?  Do I ask Jesus to walk with me each day of the week?    Family life, work life, community life occupy most of our time and now the church reminds us that our spiritual life also needs to shape up.  Next Sunday is Palm Sunday.  We proclaim Jesus Christ as our King and Savior.  Can we walk with Jesus through the days of Holy Week and once again commit ourselves to his service?   Can we attend all the Holy Week services and grow as a child of God. 

The Stations of the Cross will be said in the church each Sunday after the Sunday Liturgy.  Pray and walk the Stations for one of our reflective prayers during the Lenten Season. 

 

Holy Week Schedule:

            March 28: Palm Sunday Liturgy at 10:30am, Youth Choir

            April 1: Holy Thursday, 7:00 PM: Adult Choir

            April 2: Good Friday, 12:00 Noon: Youth Choir

            April 3: Holy Saturday Vigil, 7:00 PM: Adult Choir

            April 4: Easter Sunday, 10:30 AM:  All Choirs prepare liturgy

 

Bishop’s Seminary Brunch:  This dinner and fund raiser that supports the seminarians of the diocese will be held on March 21, 2010, beginning at 12:00 noon.  Our Holy Name sponsors a table for the dinner and if anyone would like to participate please see Walter Napier for information about this event. 

 

SAAC will sponsor a Tai Chi Exercise class on Thursday, March 25 at 11:00am in the Library.  All are welcome. 

 

Sacramental Records:  Parish Sacramental records for Baptism and Marriage are always available at the rectory office.  You may obtain a new copy by calling the rectory office.  In June these Sacramental Records will be moved to the Diocese of Cleveland offices downtown.  After June 6 your records can be obtained by calling the Diocese.  However, you may want to update your personal files while these records are still at St. Adalbert.  Please call the rectory office for your baptismal and marriage sacramental records.

 

RCIA:  Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation study continues

Teen Retreat for High School Students will be held March 26 & 27 at Maria Stein, OH.  Please pray that our teens will grow spiritually during this time away.  Pray for safe travel and a prayerful spirit.  Please contact Br. Tom for more information. 

 

Market Day at St. Adalbert will be held on Saturday,
April 10 from 9:00am to 2:00pm and on Sunday April 11 from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm.  Tables are available and donations are welcomed.  Please call Jane Skinner 216 481-8490 or Linda Gamble at the office. 

 

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament and St. Adalbert School Alumni Reunion is being Planned: From May 28 to May 30 a school alumni reunion will be held for former students of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament and St. Adalbert Schools.  Many activities surround this event.  Please call Mike Stitts or Lisa Sullivan to get information about the reunion weekend. 

On Saturday March 27 the Youth Choir will Practice at 11:00am
