Eucharistic Minister Meeting:  All Eucharistic Ministers met for an update and instructional class to renew ministry as Extraordinary Ministers of Communion.   If by chance you missed these classes, please call the parish office.  We’ll notify you about future instructions and updates. 

 

The Adult Retreat at Maria Stein was attended by 25 members from various neighboring parishes.  Thank you Br. Tom and Jane Skinner for organizing the event and let us pray that we might be able to continue this rewarding spiritual experience.       

 

Two wonderful parishioners are eloquently sharing incite on their radio programs for the Cleveland area.  Please tune in to  God’s Saving Word” hosted by Sr. Juanita Shealey, CSJ on Radio Station WERE 1490 AM on Saturday afternoon 4:00 - 5:00p.m. and on Sunday afternoon 2:00 - 3:00p.m.  Sr. Juanita’s radio show is inspirational, encouraging, enriching and challenging.   Your spirit will be lifted.  Also tune in to Mike Stitts and friends on Radio Station WERE 1490 on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00pm.  Topics of interest and current events are discussed in depth so that we might be knowledgeable about the signs of the times. 

 

Adult Choir Practice on Saturday, July 11 at 11:00am.

 

Holy Name Picnic July 12:  The Holy Namers invite us to share a picnic lunch after Sunday Mass in the backyard of the Parish House.  Bring a lawn chair and a good appetite and enjoy the parish family.   

Mass on this Sunday will also be celebrated under the trees, weather permitting.  

Black Catholic Sunday July 19:  Black Catholics from around the state of Ohio will gather at the Precious Blood Sorrowful Mother Shrine for prayer and reflection.  All pilgrims are welcome. 

 

Vacation Bible School will be held July 7 thru 9.  The theme is “Power Lab”.   So let’s get our children ready to power up their faith with this summer’s Bible School. 

 

50th Wedding Anniversary Couples are invited to celebrate their anniversary with other Jubilarians from the Diocese at a Mass celebrated by Bishop Richard Lennon at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral on July 26, 2009.  Please register at the Parish Office.

 

Gardeners:   Wow!  Lots of growth in the gardens.  This week the green thumbs staked the tomato plants and tackled the weeds.    Volunteers for weeding and watering are needed.  See Br. Tom. 

 

School News:  Summer School begins June 22 thru July 17.      Prospective New Students for St. Adalbert School will be testing and registering at the school office.   You can help with this initiative by inviting parents and students to think about attending our school. Call 216-881-6250. 

 

New Parishioners:  Families and individuals may register to become parish members by calling the parish office – 881-7647.

Baptism:  A person interested in Baptism and the Catholic Church must take instruction classes.  New RCIA classes will begin on Jan. 11, 2009.  Please call the parish office.  

Planning a Wedding:  Parishioners are to notify the parish office 6 months in advance for classes and date reservation.
