PHILOSOPHY
We, the St. Anselm community, believe Catholic education
begins with life in the heart of the family. The process of
education, which includes parents, teachers, and students is
founded on a shared commitment to the spiritual and academic
growth of the child. It is our belief that the child,
supported by the loving witness of a Christian faith
community, will develop a lifelong active response to God's
love. Believing in the uniqueness of each child, we are
committed to creating an environment that empowers the
students to participate in building the kingdom of God.

MISSION STATEMENT
St. Anselm School community strives to nurture the total
child toward a life focused in Christ.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVE
St. Anselm School shares in the mission of the Catholic
Church to foster the religious, intellectual and moral
development of our students. With the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, we strive:
To live and proclaim the Gospel according to the beliefs
and traditions of the Catholic Church.
To realize that service is a result of
discipleship.
To provide a quality curriculum that offers activities
and opportunities conducive to the growth of the whole child
- emotionally, physically, intellectually, culturally ,
spiritually and socially.
To encourage and support opportunities for the emotional
and spiritual growth of our teachers and staff.
To recognize parents as the primary educator of the
children and to provide enrichment for them in both
educational and spiritual growth.

CURRICULUM
Our curriculum is based upon individual graded courses
of study written by the Diocese of Cleveland and approved by
the State of Ohio. The curriculum includes a study of
religion, mathematics, language arts, (English, spelling,
handwriting and phonics for grades K-3), science, health,
social studies, music, art, computer, health issues, human
sexuality, and chemical abuse.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
An essential element of any Catholic school is its
religious education program. The St. Anselm faculty is
committed to supporting and working with parents in their
responsibility as the primary educators of their children.
We, too, wish to share the Catholic faith and values with
the children in our care.
Religion classes make up a daily part of the curriculum.
The teachings and traditions of the Catholic faith are
taught and explained. Students are also encouraged to
internalize their faith and respond to theories in a
Christian manner.
The Student body celebrates a school Liturgy monthly and
level Liturgies are scheduled regularly. In addition, there
are opportunities to receive the sacrament of reconciliation
twice during the school year. Devotional activities are also
experienced through the year. See also S.P.A.R.K.S.
