Greetings from Miss Gentile

I will be teaching the writing portion of the Language Arts curriculum along with a seventh grade religion class. I graduated from John Carroll University in May and did my student teaching at Monticello Middle School. I am looking forward to making all of my students better writers while developing and deepening their faith and love for God.

The religion class will follow the curriculum guide for families while I will also incorporate meaningful real-life projects to supplement the workbook.

English classes we will be focusing on grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, and how to correctly use these throughout their writing. Fifth and sixth grades will start learning how to write the five paragraph essay while the seventh and eight grade will be asked to write long pieces such as reports and research papers. My goal is to make writing fun for the student while advancing their writing skills.

As the English teacher, I will be collaborating with Mrs. Miller for Power of the Pen and the school newspaper. I am very excited about being involved with the school outside of my classroom.

Being that this is my first year, I have extremely high expectations of myself and my students. By the end of the year, I want all of my students to be better writers and I will strive to achieve that goal. I am very enthused about my first year and cannot imagine myself at another school.
