The Altar of Martyrs




The Brutality of the Spanish Civil War 1936 to 1939
is well documented even though not generally well known.
Over  a MILLION people died at that time. It's as though
the gates of hell were thrown open for that time
to viciously ravage the Catholic Church.
Some of the relics of martyred nuns
of that time are in the altar above.
The following might be five of the seven names:

Cinco monjas Clarisas Capuchinas que son:

1.  MARÍA JESÚS MÁSIÁ FERRAGUT, del monasterio de Agullent.
Nacida en el 1882, emitió su profesión religiosa en 1910 y fue asesinada el 25 de octubre de 1936.

2.  MARÍA FELICIDAD MASIÁ FERRAGUT, del monasterio de Agullent.
Nacida el 1890. Hizo su profesión religiosa en 1910, siendo asesinada el 25 de octubre de 1936.

3.  MARÍA VERONICA MASIÁ FERRAGUT, del monasterio de Agullent.
Nacida en 1884, hizo su profesión religiosa en 1904 y fue asesinada el 25 de octubre
de 1936, junto con las dos siervas de Dios, antes mencionadas, que eran hermanas suyas.  
(Please note that  2  of  those martyred  were not yet  professed.)

4.  ISABEL CALDUCH ROVIRA, del monasterio de Castellón de la Plana.
Nacida en 1882, hizo su profesión religiosa en 1901 y fue asesinada el 13 de abril de 1937.

5. MILAGRO ORTELLS GIMENO, del monasterio de Valencia.
Nacida en 1882, ingresó en las clarisas capuchinas en 1902. Se desconoce
el día de su profesión. Fue asesinada el 20 de noviembre de 1936
