Homework

This web site is a resource for students and parents.  It is used to present curriculum information and general announcements.  This is not to replace writing daily assignments in the agenda. It is an intended plan, so although it is reliable, it is subject to change.  If in doubt, students should check with their "Homework Buddy".

Welcome to the OFFICIAL website of Room 8.  It will include Junior High Announcements as well as homework assignments for both 7th grade Pre-Algebra and 8th grade Algebra.  Please be aware that our program is constantly evolving so students should always refer to their planner first and check with their homework buddy for updated assignments.  I look forward to a wonderful year with all of your children!

Class Expectations

Homework is an expectation and responsibility for success in the course.  Daily practice and review are essential for the reinforcement and mastery of skills.  Therefore, homework is assigned almost daily.  Although there is usually time to begin the assignment under my guidance, the remainder will need to be completed at home.  Homework is considered part of the quarterly grade and will be randomly collected several times a week.  Each assignment is due at the beginning of class and is worth five points.  If a student does not have the required assignment when it is due, it can be turned in the following day for partial credit, beyond that no points will be given.  Students should be prepared and alert.

If a student is absent they should contact their "call buddy" to procure the assignment.  I will help bring them up to speed when they return.
