Scout Sunday - Troop 810 along with other scouting organizations at Assumption Parish participate in the 9:00am liturgy every third Sunday of the month during the school year. Show your Scout Spirit by attending this mass in uniform. The next 3 months dates are: February 19, 2012, March 18 and April 15

Eagle Projects - You will be getting emails about helping out on your fellow Scout's Eagle Projects. This is a great opportunity for you to show your Troop spirit and help a Scout complete the last project before Eagle. It will give you a good idea of what is expected on an Eagle project and might even give you ideas for your own project in the future. Every Eagle Scout project needs at least 100 hours so your help is valuable. Parents are welcome to help as well.

Meeting uniform requirement until May 2012-
wear class A (Scout shirt and Scout shorts or trousers).

Event Information

Gear reminder: Scouts are responsible for bringing their tents back clean and dry with all parts. Please make sure your Scout sets up the tent as soon as a campout is over, you can do this in a garage, basement or other dry place. It doesn't take long to dry it and clean it out, same with tarps, but it is ruined if it comes back wet and moldy. The dryness also applies to any other Troop equipment including things in the Patrol boxes including rope. Wet & dirty is bad, dry & clean is good.

Reminder - CPO certificates, everyday and specials, for sale to help defray camping costs for next year, Tinnerman and one summer camp will be offered, forms available at every meeting. Read below.

ADVANCEMENT - In order to keep track of the items completed for each rank advancement, Mrs. Begley, Advancement Chair, would like each boy to turn their book in to her at the first meeting of each month. Please remember to bring your Scout books to these meetings, and of course, take them home after the meeting and continue to work on advancing.

After a Scout completes his Scoutmaster conference, which he needs to set up with the Scoutmaster, he needs to then contact Mrs. Begley for a Board of Review at least 3 days prior to when he would like to have one. It will be scheduled and planned accordingly.

GIFT CARD PURCHASES CREDITED TO YOUR SCOUT'S ACCOUNT - A new way to defray camping costs is to buy gift cards for local grocery stores, gas stations and stores at face value, in other words if you buy a gift card for $50 it is worth $50 to you. A rebate in the amount of 1%-4% of the cost will be given to your Scout. Order forms are available at Troop meetings, contact Mrs. Soroczak.

Coke Rewards - Please save your Coca-Cola products which have Coke rewards on them. We have an account where we can accumulate points and defray the cost of the beverages for the rigatoni dinner fundraiser. Selected 20oz and liter bottle caps and the end of specially marked 12-24 and other cases have the notation for Coke Rewards and a special number. Please bring them to all meetings for the Troop and give them to Mrs. Verhovnik.

Can Recycling - We are also continuing our recycling funding efforts with aluminum cans which you can also bring to the meetings, please smash them to make them less bulky.
